For real. There are situations where credit cards are stronger than law. Haven't you heard about it yet? Neither about so-called chargebacks? You might be interested.
Chargebacks are a forced transaction reversal initiated by the cardholder’s bank. They differ from traditional refunds in one simple way: rather than contact the business for a refund, the consumer goes over the merchant’s head and asks the bank to forcibly remove funds from the business’ bank account. Chargebacks were designed as a form of consumer protection. However, state and industry regulations have not kept pace with rapid changes in technology and payment options, and this has allowed chargebacks to become weapons consumers can use against merchants.
Would you like to hear more about the chargebacks? Our lawyer Jakub Žák is an expert on law in innovations. Jakub will have a speech on chargebacks at Fin.techsummit 2018 on November 14. You are welcome there.
