During the last
weekend of September, our law firm had the honor of hosting this year's
Interlaw 2022 NextGen EMEA Retreat.
The Interlaw
NextGen EMEA Retreat is a great event that brings together promising lawyers
from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Thanks to this event, we can
meet together, make new contacts and gain valuable know-how from top foreign
offices.
It was our
pleasure to organize this event and host our foreign colleagues here in
Slovakia. We were also able to host this year's NextGen thanks to Interlaw, an
international network of leading law firms from more than 150 cities around the
world, of which we are a proud member.
Our guests
attended several lectures on interesting topics with us. On Friday,
psychologist Michal Bača trained us at the Carlton Hotel on the topic
"Psychological Safety in the Workplace and During Client
Interactions". In this interactive lecture, he introduced us to the
principle of psychological safety, which reveals how psychological safety affects
performance, results, innovation and personal or company growth.
We were also educated by the cultural program that we prepared. Bratislava offers many options, so we chose one of the most beautiful museums, the Danubiana museum, which the participants really enjoyed. Afterwards, our best Slovak wines and Slovak dishes were tasted.
We continued the
full-fledged program on Saturday as well. Our day started with a lecture by a professional
coach Marián Kolník on the topics "Time Management as an Oxymoron"
and "Trust in Relationships". We learned how to distinguish between
important matters and focus on the highest priorities, how to set a weekly
compass and identify the difference between urgent and important. The second
topic of Friday morning was about trust. We learned that teams and
organizations that operate with high trust perform far better than teams and
organizations with low trust.
As proper tourists
in a new city, after the great lectures, we went on a sightseeing tour of
Bratislava on the Prešporáčik sightseeing train in the afternoon. We enjoyed a
unique experience and discovered all the historical and modern beauties of the
capital of Slovakia. We ended the visit of our colleagues with dinner in the
panoramic UFO restaurant with a view of the whole of Bratislava.
We thank our
Interlaw Nextgen EMEA retreat participants for coming and we hope
they enjoyed the conference program as much as we did with them. It was a very
pleasant time. We are happy to be a part of such a great organization as
Interlaw. We are grateful that we have the opportunity to meet our foreign
colleagues and move forward together.
